Types of Visa




Diplomatic Visa: Visa issued to foreign nationals holding Diplomatic passport.

Social visit Visa: Visa issued for the purpose of social visit or for a tourist.

Professional Visit Visa: Visa issued for the purpose of professional work/expertise required for a particular project awarded in Brunei Darussalam.

Business Visit Visa: Visa issued for the purpose of investment or business related activities in Brunei Darussalam.

Employment Visa: Visa issued for the purpose of employment in Brunei Darussalam.

Dependent Visa: Visa issued to spouse and Children (under the age of 18 years old), whose husband is working in Brunei Darussalam.

Student Visa: Visa issued for the purpose of studying in Brunei Darussalam.

Transit Visa: Visa issued to any person who is in transit and enroute to a third country via Brunei Darussalam with the following requirements.

Note: Transit Visa is only applicable and issued at the BRUNEI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ONLY.

  1. Transit visa may be granted to the nationals of the People’s Republic of China, Australia, Russia, Tajikistan, Mongolia, India, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Taiwan, if they are on transit to or from a third country by air. However, they are required to fulfil the following conditions:
    1. Have a valid passport
    2. Have a confirmed onward air-ticket
    3. A valid visa to the third country, where appropriate
    4. The passenger continue their journey to the third country within the 72 hours from transit visa granted
    5. Sufficient funds throughout the period of transit in Brunei Darussalam
  2. Transit visa may also be granted to all nationals holding valid Residence Permit issued by Australia, New Zealand, United States of America (USA), Japan and United Kingdom and required to fulfill the conditions mentioned above.
  3. Extension of visa is not permitted.


Types of Entry



Single Entry Visa: Visa is used for a single journey to enter Brunei Darussalam.

Multiple Entry Visa: Visa is used for multiple journeys into Brunei Darussalam.
