Brunei maintains long standing, warm and friendly relations with the UK based on historical and traditional links. Brunei’s current High Commissioner to the UK is His Excellency Haji Mohd Aziyan Abdullah. The UK’s current High Commissioner to Brunei is His Excellency Robert Fenn.

Bilateral relations between both countries continue to be enhanced through regular exchanges of visits and cooperation particularly in the fields of defence and education.

Education cooperation continues to be a very important aspect of Brunei’s relations with the UK,with the UK continuing to be one of the major education destinations for Brunei students. There are approximately 1,700 Bruneians are currently studying in the UK.
